2nd Annual Jackson Citizen Patriot Chili Cook-Off - February 8, 2004

Downtown Kiwanis participated for the second year in the Jackson Citizen Patriot Chili Cook-Off for three reasons: Encourage and promote the image of Downtown Kiwanis Club to prospective members. Encourage people to sign up to participate in the 18th Annual Kiwanis Chili Classic at Hankerd Hills Golf Course on February 21st. Encourage people to sign up for the raffle drawing - winner's choice of a Michigan or Michigan State golf bag. The JCP Chili Cook-Off was held on February 8th with Head Chef, Bob Eberhart, cooking up a big batch of "Pro Chili". Chef Bob's "special" recipe, while not a winner, was a hit with the audience. Herb Poulsen, once again, constructed our eye-catching booth. Chili samples were then sold to the audience with profits going to the Jackson Community College Scholarship Program. A great time was had by all! Therese Hesslau chaired the committee and the following members participated in making this outing a huge success:
